Dear Colleagues, Experts and friends,
It is with great pleasure that, Macedonian Society for Human Genetics (MSHG) and the Macedonian Society for Rare Diseases (MSRD), invite you to the 14th Balkan Congress on Human Genetics and 9th Rare Disease SEE Meeting which will be held from October 05 to 07, 2023 at Hotel Double Tree by Hilton in Skopje. This international congress will bring together leading scientists, researchers, clinicians, and industry professionals to share their latest findings and developments in the field of genetics.
The 14th Balkan Congress on Human Genetics and 9th Rare Disease SEE Meeting are aiming to promote knowledge exchange and collaboration between experts in the field, and to provide a platform for discussing the latest advances and challenges in genetics research. The conference program will be arranged in a multidisciplinary manner to allow delegates to both explore issues pertinent to their own area of interest and to engage with other professionals outside of their specialty. These joined events are primarily dedicated to professionals in the field of human genetics, including but not limited to the fields of pediatrics, neurology, cardiology, hematology, oncology, obstetrics and gynecology, and rare diseases. The moto of the conference will be “Genetic diseases – from diagnostics to prevention and therapy” and will cover various areas related to diagnostics, prevention, and therapy of rare diseases as well as complex diseases influenced by genetic factors.
The 14th Balkan Congress on Human Genetics and 9th Rare Disease SEE Meeting will feature keynote speeches, plenary sessions, workshops, and poster presentations, providing ample opportunities for attendees to network, learn, and share their research. In addition, there will be a trade exhibition, where the latest genetic technologies, products, and services will be showcased. The abstracts of the invited lectures and oral and poster presentations will be published in a Supplement of the Balkan Journal of Medical Genetics, international journal published by the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts, which is cited in all major medical and scientific databases including PubMed, Web of Science and others. Finally, the conference will be devoted to the patients and especially to those with rare diseases. The National Alliance for Rare Diseases of R.N. Macedonia is our partner that participates in the planning and organization of the event. Patient organizations from our country and the region will be invited to attend and to organize a meeting as a satellite to the conference. Patients and their care givers will be given a free access to attend sessions relevant to their interest.
We encourage researchers, clinicians, students, and industry professionals to submit their abstracts for presentation at the congress. Abstract submissions are now open and will be accepted until September 11, 2023. Selected abstracts will be presented as oral or poster presentations.
We are confident that these events will be a stimulating and informative event for all attendees. We look forward to welcoming you to Skopje and to sharing with you the latest advances and challenges in the field of genetics.
Sincerely,
Prof. DijanaPlaseska-Karanfilska, MD PhD, President of Macedonian Society for Human Genetics (MSHG)
