Skopje

Skopje is the capital and largest city of North Macedonia, at the same time it represents an administrative-political, economic, cultural and educational-scientific centre.

Located in the northern part of the country, in the center of the Balkan Penisula, it is home to about half a million people.

Through the heart of the city flows the Vardar river, on one bank of the river are the modern buildings and on the other is the historical part, Old Bazaar and Kale fortress. The two parts of the city center are connected by the Stone Bridge, originally built in the 15th century. The climate in Skopje is characterized by an average annual temperature of about 12.4°C, dry, long and hot summers and cold winter with many misty days.
